Abstract
In this paper, we describe the architecture of an authoring tool for creating web-based presentations that embed user interface agents as primary actors. The expressive functions of the medium (UI agents) are not yet revealed and we expect that an architecture that enables the authoring process and empowers people with no advanced technical skills, will unfold new types of mediation experiences that are not still taken under consideration. We discuss the desired authoring conditions and describe ACT's architecture that tries to realize them. ACT is comprised by two primitive modules, a) the Authoring module which includes the Kinaesthetic Space component, the Cognitive Artifact Library, the Stages Model and the Action-Line Authoring component, b) the Scenario Processing Engine module which is responsible for the execution of script produced by the Authoring Module.
