Abstract

In this paper we will argue that mankind is just about to take one more big developmental step due to continued progress in information and communication technology. Current and further developments are making huge bodies of knowledge available to everyone, everywhere and whenever needed. This has deep implications for all of mankind, but particularly also for the whole teaching and learning process.
