Abstract

This paper is a report on the selection and implementation process for the deployment of a new learning management system. Data collection and the inclusion of key stakeholders were vital in developing a strategy to initiate and successfully complete the entire process in less than a year. This paper will outline our collaborative approach involving critical constituencies such as the IT department, student help desk, faculty support, and LMS users. Best practices for transitioning from the old LMS to the new LMS will be shared, including beta testing and intensive training for faculty buy-in, structuring sub-accounts to accommodate previous groups, and a vision for future assessment. A product assessment rubric will be shared.
