Abstract

Abstract: Corresponding to the national trend of growth in online enrollments as reported in the Sloan-C annual survey report on online education, this specific institution has grown rapidly in online enrollments. To prepare faculty for course design and online teaching, the university has provided faculty with five online training modules that are designed based on the community of inquiry framework. This brief paper first introduces the community of inquiry framework, and then analyzes the teaching presence and design components, and finally ends with faculty participants’ feedback as a brief conclusion.
