Abstract
Abstract: This paper is the result of observations in Grand Rapids, Michigan Public Schools where a new model of "blended instruction" has been adopted. Informal interviews were conducted with Grand Valley State teacher-assistants and classroom teachers, with subsequent discussions with an area technology coordinator. Preliminary findings are discussed in this paper that include how the lack of effective communication leads to confusion in the classroom and disruption of a positive learning environment. Teachers, technology coordinators, administrators and parents should thoroughly investigate the impact on students of this type of "blended Instruction".
