Abstract

This paper has a dual goal. The first is to provide a description of a composite project (REVIT) funded by the European Union, whose objective was to train citizens in areas of their interest, in various locations in Europe that were remote from the large urban and financial centers. The project included all the stages of lesson development, from the analysis of student needs to teaching and evaluation. Subjects were taught through distance learning, using the already established schools (their infrastructure and laboratories) in each area. The second more general objective of the paper is the presentation of a model or the key elements of the model from the general findings of the project analysis, i. e. the creation and validation of a model for the design, development and delivery of e-courses for application in remote areas.
