Abstract

Students at Tokan Junior High School, Japan, had a digital storytelling “Tegami” project in their 2010 domestic science class. Each student created a digital story on the theme “A Letter to My Future Self (Mirai no Jibun eno Tegami)” in this digital storytelling project. The research focused on how junior students created digital letters, and what they wanted to say to their future after reflecting about themselves through creating digital stories. “A Letter to My Future Self” was one of the best themes for digital storytelling, since the process of digital storytelling made it very important that junior high students consider and understand themselves.
