Abstract

This study intends to develop a checklist for helping educators to evaluate the potential of mod tools to be applied in developing learning games. In the first phase, researchers developed draft version of checklist by related literature review and personal gameplay experiences; in the second phase, twenty-one participants who have experiences of modifying games were invited to help verify the draft checklist. The checklist consists of eighteen check items that were sorted into four dimensions (learning avatar, learning storyline, learning quest, and learning item), and three computer games’ mod tools were evaluated by the checklist.
