Abstract

Abstract: Today’s global society is represented by rapid and complex change. “Creativity has been identified both as a key factor for adequately addressing the challenges caused by these changes as well as a major driving force towards knowledge creation and social and economic advancement through the development of a knowledge society.” (EUA Report, 2007 ). However, relatively little attention has been paid to the role creativity and innovation (C & I) might play within and by higher education. This paper is a case study of one college within a comprehensive research university beginning its journey to establish C & I as a framework for the development of a college-wide “strategic plan” for its C & I efforts. Items being considered include employing C & I as a central focus of outreach to the community, serving as a resource and partner to other colleges at Drexel, and building the College from within including the establishment of an internal innovation process
