This paper presents the results of a study conducted under the Initiative francophone pour la formation à distance des maîtres (IFADEM). The objective was to develop a hybrid educational approach that would combine the use of traditional education, ICT, and distance learning methods to teach French. As part of the IFADEM project, this study draws a portrait of the role of information and communication technologies (ICT) in initial training programs for French teachers in Africa.
