Digital games: Potential Integration of Mingoville games in Learning English as a Foreign Language

Abstract: This paper is a report on the findings of a qualitative pilot study conducted on the potential integration of Mingoville game program for learning English as a foreign language in two primary schools in Nanjing, China. The method adopted to analyze this research study is content analyses of which the researcher systematically works through each transcript assigning codes using numbers to specific characteristics within the text, the categories emerged from data by reading through each transcript as well as from literature reviews.Findings indicates that digital games has great potentials to motivates ,engage and arouse the interest of Chinese primary school students in learning English language, especially if the games has Chinese background and features. However, some students indicated that though they would prefer the integration of games in English learning, they do not really think serious game motivates them .The findings also identified various factors that posed as a challenge in the integration of digital games for EFL in Chinese primary schools.
