Abstract

The basic concepts of interaction in distance education have been based on Moore’s (1998) three types of interaction: learner-content, learner-instructor, and learner- learner interaction. Hillman, Willis and Gunawardena (1994) noticed that the three types of interaction would not be enough to explain the relationships between the learner and the technology used to deliver instruction in distance learning. They proposed an additional interaction, learner-interface interaction, which occurs between the learner and interface providing the essential means of interaction with the content, instructor, and other learners (Hirumi, 2002; Thurmond & Wambach, 2004). This study examined for the interaction, learner-interface, and identified the relationships among different kinds of interaction in online interaction and learner satisfaction.
