Abstract
This report summarizes key findings relating to the implementation of an online Graduate Diploma of Information Technology (GDIT) offered by Macquarie University. Specifically, the data collected from an online student feedback survey and student interviews were analyzed and synthesized into key findings. Results related to the differential demand for and utility of different learning modalities, student perceptions of collaborating online, the impact of technological competencies on learning and the critical influence of the teacher on the quality of the course. On the basis of these key findings, implications for online course design are proposed.
