Abstract
Course Management Systems (CMS) are widely used web-based applications in Technology-Enhanced Learning (TeL) providing a wide range of electronic content and courses publishing and delivery, communication and online assessment facilities. On the other hand, the development of wireless and mobile technologies and the new services provided to their end users in conjunction with the transformations made in the form of work (with the emerge of the paradigm of mobile workers), affect the field of education and training, leading to a new form of e-learning supported by mobile devices known as m-learning. Thus, the development of a mobile CMS (mCMS) is important for the deployment of feasible m-learning as a viable sector of e-training provision. Within this framework, in this paper, we target addressing the development of an mCMS by studying and applying the Mobile Web Best Practices 1.0 Guidelines provided by W3C to an existing CMS (namely, Moodle).
