The IST KP-Lab project focuses on creating a Shared Space learning system aimed at facilitating innovative practices of sharing, creating and working with knowledge in education and workplaces based on trialogical learning theory. The paper outlines the design and implementation of a Note editor end-user application for document centred collaboration tightly integrated with Shared space. It covers features, architecture and user interface of the Note editor tool. Different note’s states and transitions between them are also considered. Note editor supports users’ collaboration according to different working practices and allows viewing, editing versioning, comparing and printing of shared documents in flexible manner. All implemented features help in collaborative learning and facilitate reflection of the knowledge and practices. It helps in organizing learning activities around shared objects and in providing means for interaction between personal and community levels of activity.
