Abstract

Abstract: The button-up initiative of producing online educational video for Higher Education audiences, is taking over institutional video production. Practitioners and enthusiast producers are committing considerable time and effort to create their own audiovisual content. However, the production of educational video should not mirror the production of television content as there is a complex relationship between producer, the educator, and the target audience that must be considered for the creation of educational, online, audiovisual content. The metaphor of leaning the body forward while attentively working at a computer is used to stress the importance of the viewers’ engagement with what they are doing – an essential feature of educational video.
