Abstract

This paper describes a collaborative experience between members of a Mexican University and an American University to introduce an online learning management system into the Mexican university. The project targeted faculty of an undergraduate program that trains students who want to become English teachers with the goal of encouraging the spread of educational technology by familiarizing both faculty and future teachers with the use of technology. The paper documents the theories of change in which the project was grounded, the specific technology that was introduced, the phases of the collaboration and the roles of the participants. The paper closes with a discussion of the problems encountered and a preliminary evaluation of the main results that highlights the lessons learned with the experience.
