Abstract

A new generation of Intelligent E-Learning systems (ILS) has been designed and implemented by means of the construction of an agents factory, NEOCAMPUS2, able to produce "ad hoc" multi-agent structures for developing ILS. The project is now on its final phase, characterized by the introduction of pedagogic agents and affective computing, integrated with the already existing cognitive computing. The paper describes some features of the pedagogic agents implemented and gives some results of the use of Tutor2, a NEOCAMPUS2 spin-off ILS, provided with affective computing. The positive results so far obtained encourage a full assessment of NEOCAMPUS2 and its generated ILS, now under way.
