Abstract

Which implications have media convergence on production of learning resources for television targeting young people? How is new media affecting television, and how is professional production changing? These are the main questions addressed in this paper, and these topics are discussed in relation to some particular learning resources in the United States and Norway which all originate from television. The examination of these cases shows that production not unexpectedly has developed as the media landscape has changed. However, even if some common paths exist, the differences are more salient. A special point of interest is how the productions are influenced by the evolving participatory culture that many young people have become part of.
