Abstract
Abstract. Instructional design has evolved into a complex field with multiple methodologies, frameworks, and models that are used to develop learner-centric experiences using technology, pedagogy, and theory. K12, higher education, and corporate instructional designers draw from common backgrounds to develop products that meet each sector’s needs. As such, instructional designers bridge the gap between learning, theory, and practice. With the forecasted growth of the field, instructional designers should be familiar with terminology, workstyles, and tools for each sector. In addition, creativity, communication, and skills in technology and pedagogy are necessary no matter which branch of instructional design practiced.
