Abstract

The cultivation of competencies for using ICT is a necessary part for teachers in promoting the integration of ICT with education. The competency for using tablet is of great significance in guaranteeing the implementation of tablet-based instruction, which could better meet the current needs of students personalized and effective learning. To investigate the potential factors affecting the cultivating of teachers' ability for using tablet, The Influencing Factors Model on Teachers’ Ability for using Tablet based on the TPACK theory is constructed in this paper. The structural equation model method is used to verify the model based on the data from 261 secondary school teachers. Suggestions are proposed to improve teachers' tablet teaching ability from the following three aspects: developing teachers' awareness of integrating technology for subject teaching; creating a technology atmosphere; and conducting high-quality teaching and research activities.
