Information literacy (IL) is a complex set of skills and ideas required for scholarly inquiry. It goes beyond simply finding an article on a chosen or assigned topic and expands to the ability to search, analyze, and effectively use literature evidence to inform scholarly work. For Nurse Educator students, IL skills are required to utilize evidenced-based information to design, facilitate, and deliver high-quality education. A needs assessment survey was distributed to faculty and students in a Nurse Educator program that revealed significant student knowledge deficit in regards to IL. An innovative, applied learning tutorial with reflective evaluation was developed and implemented by a multidisciplinary team to address identified needs. Students’ participation in learning activities and reflections indicated the tutorial was an engaging resource that provided foundational knowledge of IL skills.
