Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic with its urgency to transition to online and remote learning caused educators to re-imagine the usual teaching context. While many were challenged to immediately adapt their formerly successful teaching strategies to this new environment, efforts to transition content to the virtual environment to ensure its continued delivery were swift and admirable. However, the transition brought new challenges. How do you teach in the moment when you are separated from students by space and time? Given the distance learning-related challenges many students face, how do you identify teaching and learning opportunities that may be revealed? How do you model reflective learning for your students in this environment? It all begins with The Five Good Things that are essential for teaching in the moment.
