Abstract
Open Educational Resources (OER) can play an important role in improving the education around the globe since they ease the access to high quality digital educational materials. One of the most common used OER resources are images. There is a huge amount of already produced and well-tested materials that contain images. However, the licenses of the images that have been used for producing these materials are either unknown or the images are copyrighted. Accordingly, the educational materials cannot be published as OER. Therefore, we have proposed developing a tool to support educators converting their materials to OER. In this paper, we introduce the functionality of the first web-based prototype of our tool, which extracts images from a given document and replaces them with the corresponding OER counterparts from the online OER portals. Furthermore, we present the upcoming steps to extend the functionality of the introduced tool.
