## Abstract

Constructivism is a theory of knowledge which asserts that learners generate new knowledge from their own experiences. When applied to a classroom setting, constructivism suggests that the learners must be actively engaged with the material in order for meaningful learning to take place. The purpose of this paper is to present some ideas for the successful integration of technology in developmental mathematics courses such as elementary or intermediate algebra in order to improve students’ performance and engagement.
