Abstract

This paper is a report on a study which examines the approaches of the first seven teacher education programs to receive the ISTE NETS Distinguished Achievement Award for exemplary integration of the ISTE NETS-T standards. Multiple faculty members from each program completed questionnaires and were interviewed on their particular approach to technology integration and the key factors in the process of implementing the standards. A triangulation of evidence from program documentation, faculty questionnaires, and interviews yielded a conceptual framework for technology integration across programs. A synthesis of the programs' approaches to implementing the ISTE standards is outlined, including a discussion of the key factors impacting their implementation.
