Abstract

The development of infrastructures to support learning not only involves designing innovative architectures and tools; what is even more important is to subject these to a continuous process of critical evaluation in everyday practice. Theoretical concepts of cooperative knowledge construction are essential elements in this process. The present article reports practical experience with the use of our approach involving cooperative knowledge spaces for cooperative knowledge organization. The most important findings are presented in the form of a set of theses. While the results obtained are directly based on our use of the Paderborn open-sTeam open-source environment, they should essentially be seen as system-independent.
