A Meta-Language for a Teaching-Plan-Making Support System

A teaching plan document is very important for implementation of intentional and planned education. However, although a teaching plan document has a customary description format, it has no standardized description format. For this reason, it is not always easy for student teachers or new teachers to select optimal description items and to make a teaching plan document with consistency, and they need support in making their teaching plan documents. This paper therefore developed a meta-language ("MelaTep") for describing a framework of teaching plan documents and implemented it in an XML schema. Furthermore, the paper developed a teaching-plan-making support system that operates based on MelaTep. By using the system, teachers can easily and precisely make their teaching plan documents that have "Clarity", "Soundness" and "Exhaustiveness" features. As teaching plan documents can be stored into a database and can be shared/reused, they can also share each other's educational methods.
