Abstract
In this paper public-private partnerships are analyzed with respect to training needs and experiences gained in e-learning collaborations. Similar interests of universities and companies are pointed out and the potential of public-private partnerships to solve common educational needs is described. Focusing on Learning Management Systems (LMS) this yields the conclusion that future partnerships in this field should be aware of handicaps which are typical for these cooperations in order to achieve innovative solutions. We close our review of cooperations in e-learning by outlining future directions for the development of LMS in public-private partnerships.
