Abstract

Reading comprehension is a critical factor in the success of all learners. The National Reading Panel has recommended the Structure Strategy as one approach that should be used to improve reading comprehension in schools. We have created an intelligent tutoring system to help students learn and practice using the Structure Strategy. This paper presents preliminary results from a pilot test. This paper also presents our approach to creating this web-based tutoring system.
