Abstract
This work in progress paper reports on whether hybrid CD-ROM technology used to train or supplement the training of mentors of beginning teachers in Vocational Education and Training is an improvement upon traditional face to face and print-based delivery. It argues that the shifting ground in pedagogical models can confuse educational software developers but an understanding of a theoretically driven level of explanation of learning may assist decisions about learning approaches and choice of technology.
