Abstract
Online teaching, also known as the e-learning platform, plays an important role to provide the teachers and students the opportunities to communicate and teach in big size classes. Researches on online asynchronous discussion board, known as text-based discussion board, have been studies very much. While fewer studies was known about how online tutor interacts with student in synchronous face-to-face discussion environment. This paper use the Mercier’s help-seeking model to explore undergraduate students with goal orientation how pre-to-post differences metacognition as well as learning effects. It consists four main steps that beings with setting help goals, and proceeding with finding appropriate help, comprehending help and evaluating the help. These data will be analyzed at the end of the semester in Feb. 2011.
