Abstract

This panel will present diverse perspectives on field-based research and experiences with the integration of simSchool in undergraduate teacher education courses and teacher professional development. The session will present a brief overview of the simSchool simulation platform’s capabilities. The audience will participate in a discussion about the future of teacher education, educational technology and instructional design theory shaped by games and simulations. Faculty and administration leaders from four implementation sites will describe their uses of simSchool, research plans and observations of impacts. David Gibson, founder and creator of simSchool, will set the context and moderate the presentations and discussion.
