Perspectives of Quality and Accreditation of MOOC

The dissemination and the use of technology in educational environment, as well as its popularity, enabled the emergence of educational initiatives, among which stands out the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). Such proposals speed up the establishment of comprehensive studies on the subject, as well as the development of analysis methods’ and/or instruments that allow the establishment of quality and accreditation models that considers the specifics of this phenomenon. In this sense, this paper provides a characterization overview of the proposal established by MOOCs as well as treat such discussion and analyze points of confluence between these and a quality model for educational products supported by Information Communication Technologies (ICTs).
