Abstract

The purpose of this study is to suggest implications after analyzing the status of SMART education that is promoted currently in Korea. In this study changes on national Internet environment, education paradigm shift, definition of SMART education and SMART education projects are explored according to the development of information technology. SMART education in Korea is concentrated on building the physical environment. Also the development of education contents does not catch up the physical environment. Therefore application of SMART education should be expanded by considering the development of education contents. Incidentally, the maintenance issues of smart devices and wireless Internet environment, informatization dysfunction and teachers empowerment also should be considered.
