Abstract
Our increasingly globalized and digitized world today presents our students with greater opportunities than ever before, but also greater needs and challenges. As teachers of Project Work, we seek to sensitize students to meet the needs of the communities around them, with the effective use of ICT. We aim to equip students with practical skills to identify problems and unaddressed gaps, draw learning points from case studies from different fields, and construct solutions. They will hence be able to experience real-world relevance and application of their learning to society, and find success and fulfillment through making a meaningful contribution to the greater good. The paper draws on the ideas of social reconstructionism in the discussion of social responsibility, and the concepts of constructivism and community of inquiry in e-learning. The roundtable proposes to focus on the practicals of the pedagogy and websites that have been used in teaching and learning.
