This paper describes Sustainability Science for Teachers, a hybrid course in development at a major research-extensive university in the desert southwest that integrates the use of technology to teach related concepts in a meaningful way. Part of a programmatic education reform aimed toward improving science content knowledge among preservice elementary teachers, the goal of the course is for future educators to gain necessary knowledge and skills, allowing them to not only to become more informed citizens, but also to be able to teach the content within their 21st century classrooms.
