Abstract

Bridging individualized learning and high stakes accountability requires a new breed of educational technology leader. One that can creatively and collaboratively work to identify and solve both the routine and wicked problems faced in schools daily in a continual struggle between the needs of individual learners and increasing demands for accountability. This paper will discuss how the Consortium for School Networking's essential skills for educational technology leaders are taught in an online graduate courses, including leadership multimedia simulations, TCO budgeting scenario, collaborative and system management exercises. Both formal and informal leadership skills will be examined.
