Abstract

This presentation will describe the methodology of and report on the results from a study investigating pre-service teachers' rationale when making decisions about technology-enhanced lessons. The presenters will argue that the reasoning used by pre-service teachers when selecting technologies for lessons is evidence of the teachers' technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK). The presentation will also describe a teaching strategy used to assist pre-service teachers in making decisions about technology enhanced lessons. The study described explores the rationale used by pre-service teachers when planning technology-enhanced lessons before and after the teachers' exposure to an explicit process for such planning.
