Abstract

nformation in educational technology is extensive and evolves at such a rapid pace that educators struggle to keep up-to-date. In addition, the emergence of Web 2.0 collaborative technologies marks a paradigm shift in the ways the Internet is used, away from a depository of information and toward means of collaboration for knowledge sharing and building. This project involves two educational technology faculty members in enlisting the collaboration of the educational technology professional community to develop a knowledge management system that organizes information related to educational technology in the form of a wiki. Wikis are online knowledge structures that can be modified by anyone who accesses them; collaborators benefit from the information they find and also contribute to developing and maintaining the quality of the information that is available. The presentation will share development of the edu-teKNOWiki and extend an invitation to the SITE community to participate.
