Development of motivational E-Learning Environment Based on Flow Theory PROCEEDINGS

This study intends to develop motivational e-learning environment (MELE). In order to achieve goal of this research, we reviewed ‘Flow Theory’. Based on literature reviews, we induced some design principles. Design principles for motivational e-learning environment as follows: 1) Induce learners to have an interest, and to give an attention to learning, 2) Facilitate learners to engage learning by setting clear goals, 3) Provide the optimal, instructional, and just-in-time feedback based on learners’ own learning process and achievement level, 4) Give the appropriate potential control to learners to have an ownership, 5) Provide customized tasks after learner’s achievement level and process, 6) Design and develop an efficient interface in order to help learners concentrate upon the assignment.
