Abstract
Teacher education professionals continue to target classroom technology knowledge, skills and dispositions as core components of exemplary teacher preparation programs. While experiences for teacher candidates in this domain have primarily been offered in a face-to-face environment, research indicates that many of these learning outcome might be successfully addressed in an online venue. This study presents the design, development and delivery of an online Introduction to Educational Technology (IET) course. Data collected comparing face-to-face counterparts of the course with the online pilot and data related to learning outcomes support the premise that effective and dynamic online courses can successfully address teacher candidate professional development related to technology integration.
