This paper addresses the latest development in the old art of mentoring by describing e-mentoring as a dynamic helpful tool in equipping, training and supporting people as a way of instruction. In this paper the following method will be pursued: First a broad outline on what mentoring is and how mentoring has traditionally been used as a way of equipping, training and supporting people as a will be discussed. Mentoring is being used in many different situations and spheres of life like for instance the business world, the church environment, education and other kinds of training ranging from the very mundane to the most sophisticated forms of mentoring. Then an introduction to e-mentoring will be given, how important e-mentoring is becoming, what advantages and disadvantages there are in e-mentoring and finally some guidelines on e-mentoring are proposed. Finally, an appreciation and evaluation of this method of instruction/equipping/support will be proposed and suggestions made for further extension of e-mentoring as viable option in instructor networking.
