Abstract

Knowledge is a commodity that everyone has. It is acquired as a result of both formal and informal learning activities and through processes of thinking, observation and experiment. The nature, amount and quality of a person’s knowledge will vary from one individual to another and will strongly influence his/her ability to solve problems. Increasingly, problem-solving activity is becoming dependent upon the ease with which those involved can share and manage electronic representations of their knowledge. This paper discusses and describes the utility of wikis as a resource for achieving these objectives.
