This research examines the issue of the facilitation of reflection in the MUSO online learning management system at Monash University. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews with 5 academic experts and a survey of 65 students. Both staff and student perspectives on the importance and impact of reflective learning practices were examined. While many cases of facilitation of refection within individual units, intra unit reflection, were report by academics and students a lack of facilitation of reflection between units, inter unit reflection, was identified as an area requiring research. In response a framework for the facilitating inter unit reflection using Workflow principles has been described in this paper and was evaluated by interviews with academic experts.
