Abstract

Universal Design or Design for All refers to the designing process whose output is to be accessible by as broad a range of users as possible. It means designing products, services and environments that are readily usable by most users without any modification, making them adaptable to different users (adapting user interfaces), having standardized interfaces to be compatible with special products for people with disabilities. This paper deals with the context of previous four ATIID (Accessibility, ICT and Digital Inclusion) conferences, when there was the need to design, diffuse and make available proceedings that were both usable and accessible - for people with disabilities and using assistive technologies. Objectives: a) to discuss such design process and its result (the latest version of the proceedings, available in CD-ROM as well as on-line); b) to highlight the need, solutions and advantages for design compliance with accessibility guidelines and directives such as WCAG 2.0.
