Teens and young adults are not learning financial responsibility at a young age. In 2001 more young people filed for bankruptcy than graduated from college. By teaching financial responsibility to teenagers and young adults they are more likely to become adults who can make sound financial decisions. Games can be used as a tool to teach financial responsibility to teenagers and young adults. Street Legal Customs is a game designed to teach teenagers and young adults how to make sound financial decisions. This is accomplished not through the eyes of a consumer but as a business owner. Street Legal Customs teaches the importance of credit ratings, money management, cash flow, and setting financial goals.
