Abstract

Abstract: This paper presents an educational strategy designed to develop information literacy skills in poor rural contexts through inquiry project-based learning. The process to develop the strategy is described, since it started with a diagnosis of the context. Results of its implementation with teachers are discussed with regards to student-centered significant learning, reasoning and collaboration. A comparison with a similar well known information literacy model is also presented.
