The session will describe a new project that facilitates the collaboration of teachers and learners in the creation and adaptation of freely available open educational resources (OER). The session will discuss how the project, OER Commons, aggregates existing OER and helps to open new resources within a network that not only allows users to find materials more easily, but also engages users through social networking activities, such as ratings, reviews, tags, and shared portfolios. Finally, the session will describe how users can add context to content, and in doing so, transform curriculum from isolated materials to an integrated process of resource improvement.
