Abstract
Faculty in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette have developed and modified a program for elementary education majors to infuse technology into the methods courses that all teacher candidates are required to take. The teacher candidates move through three blocks of methods courses that are developmental in nature to assist toward effective teaching skills. Effective technology integration is considered an essential part of this progression. To support the attainment of effective technology integration skills, instructors in the three blocks have created learning experiences that require teacher candidates to design and implement lessons that infuse technology, especially digital imagery.
